Our journal websites serve researchers, authors, reviewers, editors, and readers worldwide. As a data controller, we are responsible for the personal data you provide or that we collect when you use our platforms.

- Publication and indexing — to publish accepted articles and deposit metadata with indexing services such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Crossref (legitimate interest / legal obligation).
- Communications — to send editorial decisions, review invitations, and status updates (contractual necessity).
- Newsletter and announcements — to send journal news or calls for papers, where you have opted in (consent).
- Analytics and improvement — to understand usage patterns and improve our platforms (legitimate interest).
- Legal compliance — to meet applicable legal obligations (legal obligation).
The data we process may be used by the official platforms we are in partnership with called DergiPark.

4.1. Editorial and Review Processes
The identities of the journal’s reviewers are kept confidential from the authors and the journal’s editorial team.
4.2. Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party vendors (e.g., manuscript management platforms, hosting services, payment processors) under data processing agreements that restrict their use of your data. In our case, the third party is DergiPark, provided by Ulakbim, a brand of Tübitak.
4.3. Academic Infrastructure Partners
Metadata and author information for published articles may be shared with academic indexing services, digital object identifier (DOI) registrars such as Crossref, and library systems to ensure proper citation and discoverability.
4.4. Legal Requirements
We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Academician Studies Group, its users, or the public.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:
- Published author data is retained indefinitely as part of the scholarly record.
- Declined or withdrawn submissions are retained for up to 5 years for audit and integrity purposes.
- Account data is retained while your account is active and for 3 years thereafter.
- Log and analytics data is typically anonymised or deleted after 24 months.
6. International Data Transfers
Academician Studies Group operates internationally. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence. Where such transfers occur outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we implement appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
